The Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Hopi Bruins 64-45 in Polacca on Tuesday. The win improved Winslow’s re-cord to 6-1 for the young season and was their third win over the Hopi Bruins. Winslow hosted Hopi earlier in the sea-son and met the Bruins in the Tate’s Shootout Tournament as well.
The Bulldogs led by a narrow 14-11 after the first quarter, but had established a commanding 35-19 lead by the half. The margin was 57-31 after three quarters of play.
Winslow had four players in double figures, but Hopi’s Stephan Tootsie led all scorers with 12 points. Michael Goldtooth, Stevin Nelson and Timmy Little all scored 11 points, and Keenan Keams tallied 10 for the Bulldogs. Blake Sekaquaytewa and Ismeal Zurita each scored 9 for the Bruins.

The Bulldogs are playing in the Pepsi Invitational Tournament in Flagstaff through Saturday, Dec. 8. They will host Blue Ridge on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and will play at Page on Tuesday, Dec. 18. They play the Vikings at Williams on Thursday, Dec. 20, and finish the 2012 portion of their season in the Tournament of Champions scheduled Dec. 27-29 at Chinle.
