On Tuesday night the Wildcats avenged last week’s road loss to Williams with a 69-58 home court victory.
The Joseph City squad jumped out to a six-point first period lead, then built it to double digits in the third period before matching the Vikings in the fourth to notch the 11-point win.
Jacob Fields put together a stellar performance with the help of his teammates, scoring 34 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Cody Davis also netted double figures with 15. Wyatt Johnson and T.J. Hendricks both added 6, while Daniel Hutchens hit for 2. Chance Rush didn’t score, but helped on the glass with eight re-bounds.
Last week in their first meeting in Williams, Fields again had a big night, but in a losing effort as Williams’ took the first game 63-57.
Fields scored 28 with eight rebounds. Hendricks hit for 9, Austin Bushman, 8, Davis and Hutchens, 4 each, and Rush and Wyatt Johnson, 2 each.
The Wildcats head into tonight’s (Dec. 7) home matchup with Ash Fork with a 2-3 record in non-tournament contests. On Tuesday, Dec. 11, they will face a talented Valley Sanders team in Joseph City.
