The University of Arizona Navajo County Cooperative Extension is hosting a series of gardening work-shops in 2013, taught by Master Gardener Jan Mathis.
The schedule includes:
* Saturday, Jan. 26, Basic Botany–What plants to select for my yard, garden and/or landscape.
* Saturday, Feb. 9, Soils and Your Garden–How to make it work.
* Saturday, Feb. 23, Introduction to Pruning.
* Saturday, March 9, Container Gardening and House Plants.
* Saturday, March 23, Solving the Water Mystery.
* Saturday, April 6, Trees in the Landscape.
* Saturday, April 20, Bugs in My Yard.
Saturday, May 4, Hands on Gardening.
The workshops will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Navajo County Cooperative Extension Conference Room, 100 E. Code Talkers Drive in Holbrook.
The cost is $10 per class or $75 for all classes. The registration and payment deadline is Jan. 7, 2013. Please make checks payable to the University of Arizona. Mail your payment to Navajo County Cooperative Extension, P.O. Box 668, Holbrook, Ariz. 86025. Please list the names and dates of classes for which you are registering.
For an additional $50, you may purchase a Master Gardener Manual.
Master Gardener’s Certification is available upon completion of all classes and volunteer service.
