Get ready for an evening of colorful entertainment as Aguilas de Oro, Northland Pioneer College’s Mexican Folklore Dance class, hosts its 15th annual Winter Recital at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Win-slow High School Performing Arts Center. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.
The dance group promotes Hispanic culture through the traditional dances of Mexico. The Aguilas de Oro (Golden Eagles) officially formed as a “club” in 1997. The majority of the advanced students have been with the group for more than 12 years.
There are currently 30 dancers from many backgrounds, and they all have the desire to dance and share with area communities their love of the traditional Mexican rhythm of many emotions.
Dancers enroll in noncredit classes at NPC, taught by Idalia Lewis.
