The Lobos pushed their mark to 9-3 by winning both games played at home last week.
On Tuesday, Snowflake defeated Payson 49-38, getting a strong effort from Reggie Petersen, who finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds, along with Rick Shumway with 10 points and nine boards. Keagan Kay also netted double figures, matching Shumway with 10 points. Chase Walden netted 7, Dallin Merrell, 4, Braccin Tanner, 3, and Dallin Fusselman, 2.
Snowflake took good care of the ball, finishing with just 12 turnovers, but did struggle from the line, making just seven of 22 attempts as a team.
Friday’s home game against Mogollon wasn’t much of a game for Snowflake. The Mustangs came into this game on the heels of a big win over Holbrook two days earlier, but the Lobos manhandled them from the out-set, winning the game 78-35.
Playing with the large lead for much of the game several players were able to contribute to the win. Luke Lewis and Shumway led the team in scoring with 11 each. Jarom Beecroft added 8. Doug Brimhall also scored 8 and pulled down nine boards. Walden and Petersen also scored 8, with Petersen grabbing 12 boards. Fussel-man and Kay each finished with 7, Trent Caldwell had 6 and Merrell helped with 4.
The Lobos will complete their 2012 calendar year with a road trip to Window Rock on Friday, Dec. 21. They return to the court following the break on Jan. 3 at Payson, and will host Winslow the following night.
