Beulah Goodman Penrod, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Shumway on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, while in the care of her family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located on West Willow Street. A viewing and visitation with the family will precede the services at 9 a.m. Interment will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
Beulah was born in Clay Springs on July 23, 1917, to William Ezra and Hanna McNeil Goodman. She was the youngest of 10 children.
She was the postmaster for 32 years in Vernon, where she lived and raised her family. She was a very active member of the LDS church all her life, having served in many different positions. She loved people and it showed in the way she served and lived her life.
Survivors include her children, Verla (Lenard) Hunt, Dorothy Jean (Jerry) Brewer, Floyd (Sherry) Penrod, Janet Penrod, Rodney (Connie) Penrod, Randel (Nancy) Penrod and Kim (Shanna) Penrod; 49 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren and 58 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Penrod; her son, Kenneth Penrod; and three grandchildren.
Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
