The Joseph City School District Governing Board met last week, and elected Ralph Bushman as the governing board’s president for 2013 and Julie Davis as clerk.
The board also accepted the resignation of Business Manager Carol Henderson. Henderson, who has been employed in the position for the past 12 years, cited personal reasons for leaving the position. Henderson came to the district on a contractual basis, hired to sort out the district’s business matters. After that contract was complete, the district asked her to remain as a permanent employee. Her final day with the district will be July 1.
Along with her other obligations, Henderson handled the duties of food services director. The board agreed to create a separate position with that title, which would include a $3,000 annual stipend. That position would be taken over by Mandie Shaw, who will add those duties to her position as the elementary cafeteria manager, effective March 1.
The board approved the annual performance evaluation of Superintendent Robert Klein. The evaluation did not involve Klein’s contract, which has two years remaining. Klein has been with the district as superintendent since 2009.
