An explosive first period propelled the Lady Wildcats to their fourth straight win and 12th overall as they pounded Seligman 65-30 on Tuesday night.
Hosting the Lady Antelopes, Joseph City jumped out to a commanding 39-4 lead through the first eight minutes. Thirty-nine points in one period is tough to do at any level, but Joseph City did that, as well as played stingy defense, to gain the upper hand very early in the contest. With the game already out of reach, both teams posted scores more like a normal game over the final three periods.
With the big lead, several players were able to contribute to the win for Joseph City. Kayla Hughes turned in a solid performance with 19 points, 12 steals and 5 rebounds. Searra Hansen posted 14 in limited playing time. Taylor Hill finished with 13 points and dished out four assists. Kristin Baldwin also handed out four assists along with netting 10 points. Madison Fields finished with just 5 points, but pulled in 13 re-bounds. Brooke Baldwin and Sierra Johnstun each added 2 in the win.
