Robert William “Bob” Gonsalves, 86, of Snowflake passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Snowflake. A graveside blessing will follow at the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snow-flake.
Bob was born on March 10, 1926, in Red Bluff, Calif. He was raised around Red Bluff and graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1945.
He served two years in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Bob married Mary Anna Storrs in 1947 and they lived in Gerber, Calif., until 1953 when they moved to Flagstaff.
In 1954 they moved to Snowflake to start a business, Western Moulding Co., and that is where they raised their family.
Bob and Mary retired to Tempe and then to Sun Lakes. 


He served on the Snowflake Town Council for many years, as well as the board of directors for Fort Apache Timber Co. (FATCO).
Bob had a pilot’s license and loved to fly.
He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a caring and loving person to all, and he will certainly be missed. 


Survivors include his four sons, Richard, Don and wife Debbie, Jim and wife Tracy, and John W. Gonsalves; his brother, John A. Gonsalves and wife Saralu; two sisters-in-law, Alice and husband Gene Kinne, and Edith Chittenden; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. 


Owens Livingston Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
