David Edgar Greer, 82, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, in Mesa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, at the LDS Chapel located at 1150 W. Elliot Road in Gilbert. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the funeral. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery, located at 1300 S. San Francisco St.
He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Flagstaff to Harry and Anna Greer.
He served in the Navy for four years in the Pacific, then worked for the US Postal Service until he retired in 1998.
David was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 3.
He loved to keep up on the news by reading the newspaper, kept active by walking in the neighborhoods that he lived and enjoyed attending local sporting events.
Survivors include his six children and their spouses, Patric (Laurie), Kathy Hoff, Jeffery (Robin), Kelley (David) Titus, Tracy (Carolyn) and Susan (Rick) Demo. David had 11 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth (Harry), and brother-in-law Jack (Dorothy) Cocks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; his parents; his brother, Harry; three sisters, Bessie Foster, Barbara Drake and Dorothy Cocks; and his daughter-in-law, Nancy (Pat).

Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
