Jerry Gordon Byrd, 71, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Taylor. Private services will be held.
Jerry was born to the late Clarence Byrd and Juanajene (Gaines) Tranter on July 14, 1941, in Mesa.
A veteran of the United States Navy, Jerry served from 1960-1964 before being honorably discharged. Following his time in the service, Jerry and his wife, Trinidad Sanchez Byrd, moved to California, where they resided for nearly 30 years before moving back to Taylor.
Jerry loved everything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and his annual jeep rides.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Trini Byrd of Taylor; daughter, Cynthia Renee Randall of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; son, Jerry G. Byrd Jr. of Taylor; twin grandchildren, Andrew and James Randall of California; brother, Donald Collier of Lakeside; and sister, Charlotte Maxine Collier of Lakeside.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.
