Rebecca Ann Barris, 41, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in Flagstaff. Funeral services were held Jan. 26 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winslow.
Becky was born in Winslow on March 25, 1971.
A lifelong resident of Winslow and a graduate of Winslow High School, Becky became a teacher at WHS and was there for 12 years. She was a softball and basketball coach, and taught business education. She was also a junior high school coach and an investment advisor for Bank of the West.
Becky loved sports and traveling, was a TV and movie enthusiast, and a cupcake connoisseur.
Her organizations and education included DKG, ABEA, WBEA, NBEA, AIA Secretary (North), National Softball Association, Winslow High School and American University.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Barris; a son, Bryce Barris; two daughters, Briana Conatser and Bryn-lee Barris; her father, Robert Huttoe; a sister, Lin Cunningham; a brother, Chipper Cunningham; her honorary daughter, Tonya King; cousins, Robby and Shelly Cunningham, and Megan Cunningham; and uncles and aunts, Donny Cunningham, Mike and Cora Cunningham; and Barbara Bealer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gayla Sue; her grandparents, Esta Lee and Willard Cunningham; and her uncle, Richard Cunningham.
A scholarship fund has been set up in her name, and donations can be made to: Winslow High School, P.O. Box 580, Winslow, Ariz. 86047.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
