After trailing for nearly the entire game, the Roadrunners battled back in the fourth quarter Tuesday night and stole a win from visiting St. Johns when Sheldon Silversmith drove to the basket to score the go ahead points with just seconds remaining. Andon Hatch and Kyle Chee also did damage in the fourth, with Hatch knocking down four of his six treys in the final eight minutes and Chee netting eight of his 12 points.
Holbrook trailed by four at the end of one and was down by seven at the half. Heading into the fourth the Birds still trailed by seven, but over the final eight minutes they outscored the Redskins 22-13 to pull out the 56-54 win.
Hatch led the team in scoring with 20 points, 18 of which came from behind the arc. Chee added 12, Silversmith finished with 10, Brandon Bitsui, 6, Marlin Martin, 4, and Nathan Turley and Robert Nelson, 2 each. Holbrook attempted just three free throws the entire game, making two, but connected on eight three-point shots.
St. Johns was led by Kyle James with 14, Konner Lee added 12, Jake Zieler, 11, Dayton Waite, 9, McKell Bradshaw, 6, and Jacob Sullivan, 2. The visitors went to the line 18 times, converting 11, with five of those seven misses coming at crucial times late in the fourth period. They made three field goals from behind the arc.

Holbrook will host Chinle tonight (Feb. 1) for Senior Night in what may well be the Roadrunners’ final game of the season. Seniors on the team playing their final home game will be Brandon Bitsui, Sheldon Silversmith, Bryan Tisi, Nathan Turley and Robert Nelson.
