Edward “Eddie” Geer Jr., 46, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Holy Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. today (Feb. 1) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with Father Jeffrey King as celebrant.
Eddie was born March 3, 1966, to Lolie and Ed Geer in Winslow, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1984.
One of his first jobs was in construction, where he built bridges all over Arizona. Eventually he got a job as a car salesman. He swore he was the best car salesman around. Soon he got his dream job with the BNSF Railroad, working as a track supervisor. Everyone knew him at work and around town; he had one of those infectious personalities.
His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and camping. Anything that involved the outdoors was good with him. He would load up all the kids and anyone who wanted to go, and they would all head out. As long as he had his family, he was happy, it didn’t matter what was going on. He loved his family with all his heart.
Survivors include his father, Edward Geer Sr.; his children, Stephanie, Linda, Edward III and Letty; his brother and sisters, Linda Barron, Carl Geer and Charlene Lomeli; and his grandchildren, Aubree and Ad-dyson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lolie; his grandfather, Joe Guterrez; and his cousin, Danny Lucero.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
