A number of musical events and concerts are in store for Holbrook and the surrounding area in the coming three months, according to the website of the Holbrook Regional Arts Alliance.
This spring’s musical offerings will start off with Fairy Tales and Fantasy: An Evening of Ballet Classics, presented by the Brigham Young University Theatre Ballet.
The program by the dance troupe presents selections from ballets such as Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, La Bayadere and Paquita.
The program will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the George Gardner Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 in advance or at the door. Tickets can also be purchased using PayPal on the HRAA website at thehraa.org and can be picked up at the Will Call window.
There will also be a Prince and Princess party at 6 p.m., immediately before the performance. Theatre Ballet invites the “young and young at heart” to dress as princes and princesses, meet the ballet company and take pictures.
The doors open at 5:50 p.m.
Also coming up on Feb. 21, the Holbrook Head Start Art Show will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the lobby of the George Gardner Performing Arts Center. Head Start receives a federal grant each year to teach kids about art, and the show features pictures the children have painted and drawn as part of their art education.
