Our Heritage In Photos

Mar 152013

Photo courtesy of the Old Trails Museum George F. Schaal (far right) arrived in Winslow in 1897 and opened Schaal’s Jewelry Store on First Street. A skilled watchmaker, he came west with the railroad to inspect and repair the watches of Santa Fe railroaders. After the old Elks building was completed in 1913, Schaal moved his shop into one of the rental spaces in that building.
