The Wildcats of Joseph City placed fourth in the girls’ competition and eighth in the boys’ at the Safford Booster Invitational held last Thursday. The Wildcats boys scored 33 points and the girls finished with 68.2 points. Snowflake took the boys’ title with 201, while host Safford claimed the girls’ side with 106.2 points.
In the boys’ 100 meter dash, Neal Conner placed 18th with a time of 12.86.
In the 200 meter dash, Josh Burt was ninth in 24.68; and Neal Conner, 19th.
Jacob Fields placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.18.
In the 800 meter run, Landen Hunt was 12th with a time of 2:20, and Landon Baldwin, 16th.
In the 1600 meter run, Landen Hunt placed 15th with a time of 5:34.
In the 3200 meter run, Tyler Hudson placed 11th with a time of 12:52.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Chance Rush placed third with a time of 16.40.
In the 300 meter hurdles Chance Rush placed second with a time of 43.16.
The combination of Daniel Hutchens, Landon Baldwin, Tyler Hudson and Landen Hunt placed eighth in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 9:34.
In the long jump, Jacob Fields placed second with a distance of 20-03; Daniel Hutchens, 10th; and Josh Burt, 29th.
In the triple jump, Jacob Fields claimed first place with a distance of 41-06; and Josh Burt, 11th.
In the shot put, Harrison Lorenc finished in 14th place with a toss of 34-11; and Neal Conner, 21st.
In the discus, Harrison Lorenc finished in 22nd place with a throw of 80-05.
In the girls’ 100 meter dash, Alyssa Hutchens placed 17th with a time of 15.62.
In the 200 meter dash, Kristin Baldwin placed third with a time of 28.44; Lindi Gardner, 10th; and Alyssa Hutchens, 23rd.
In the 400 meter dash, Kristin Baldwin placed first with a time of 1:02; and Lindi Gardner, fourth.
In the 800 meter run, Kayla Hughes placed eighth with a time of 2:45; and Britney Smith, 12th.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Brooke Baldwin placed fourth with a time of 18.07.
The team of Kristin Baldwin, Jordan Gardner, Kayla Hughes and Brooke Baldwin finished first in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:49.
In the high jump, Britney Smith was sixth, clearing 4-08.
Alyssa Hutchens placed 15th in the long jump with a distance of 12-01.
In the triple jump, Kayla Hughes was ninth with a distance of 27-10.
In the shot put, Madison Fields was second with a toss of 29-07; and Katelyn Pugh, third.
In the discus, Katelyn Pugh placed first with a throw of 104-05; and Madison Fields, fifth.
