Students in Snowflake High School’s Broadcasting, Construction and Info Tech classes wrote and submitted a grant application to Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation to buy uniforms to wear to the Arizona Skills USA competition held March 26 and 27 at the Phoenix Convention Center. SHS was the only school in Arizona to receive the $2,400 grant. On their way to Phoenix, the students showed off their new uniforms and offered their thanks to members of the staff at Lowe’s in Show Low. Those present included Store Manager Greg Jiron, Assistant Store Manager Jordan Murphy, SHS Construction instructor Daniel Prestwich, SHS Broadcasting instructor Denice Westover, and students Dylan Delee, Hunter Bruce, Chance Thomas, Nick Allen, Marcus Batala, Michael Abeyta, John Buckley, Logan Stepp, Eli Beilmann, Conner Prestwich, Emma Barrett, Ashley Bergstrom, Hanna Caldwell, Forest Fish, Jed Floyd, Paul Granados, Jason Johnson, Matt Lagrange, McKinley Neff, Bethany Mounteer, Mariah Rolow, Adrianna Rosales, Paige Shumway, Joshua Sutter, Carissa Taube, Bethany Turley, Christopher Valandra, Samson Westfall, Brian Wheeler, Tyler Yellowhair and Ramon DeWitt.
