Northern Arizona University football wants know why you think you should be an honorary coach for the 2013 NAU Football Blue & Gold Spring Game.
“We want our fans to be able to get an in-depth view of what our players and coaches see during a game,” head football coach Jerome Souers said.
To enter please send a one-page document expressing why you would be a good choice for an honorary coach to athletics@nau.edu. Please be sure to include your name, age, e-mail address and phone number in the document, and use the subject line “Honorary Coach.” Fans can also nominate others for the honor. The deadline to enter is Sunday, April 21.
Two winners will be announced on nauathletics.com on Thursday, April 25. The two lucky winners will be on the sideline with either the Blue or Gold team, help with game day operations and receive gear from NAU Athletics.
The Northern Arizona Blue & Gold spring football game will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Lumberjack Stadium. FOX Sports Arizona will televise the game live preceding the Arizona Diamondbacks-Colorado Rockies telecast. The game well also air live on FOX College Sports Pacific and www.NAU-TV.com.
Fans can begin tailgating at 10 a.m. in the parking lot adjacent to Lumberjack Stadium. There will be free parking in and around Lumberjack Stadium, or available garage parking in the San Francisco Parking Garage ($2 hour/$10 for the day). Doors to the spring game will open at 12 noon and admission is free.
Fanfest will start inside Lumberjack Stadium at 12 p.m., and will include face-painting, the NAU bounce house, pictures with Louie The Lumberjack and much more. Following the game fans are invited to stay for a post-game autograph session with all of their favorite NAU players.
