Jerry Long, 62, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013, in Leupp. Funeral services were held April 27 at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Winslow. Interment followed at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
Jerry was born in Winslow on Nov. 11, 1950. He was last employed at Navajo Nation Food Distribution as a warehouseman, and worked there for 12 years before he retired in August 2012. His hobbies were sports, livestock and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Ann Long; eight sons, Kevin Long, Eric Long, Derrick Long, Burton Long, Jonathan Long, Jerry Thomas Jr., Clifton Singer and Lamesteen Morris; two daughters, Trudy Nelson and Gerry Thompson; five sisters, Ruby Cody, Evelyn Nelson, Clydine Long, Nancy Long and Linda Long; three brothers, Curtis Long, Justin Long and David Long; and 21 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Jesse Long; his mother, Fern Long; two brothers, Jasper Long and Raymond Long; and a sister, Brenda Long.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
