Josephine “Helen” Robb passed away quietly on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today (May 3) at the First Presbyterian Church in Winslow.
She was born Josephine Helen Calhoun on Jan. 21, 1913, in Kearney, Neb. Her 100th birthday was recently celebrated with family and friends in Flagstaff, where she had resided at The Peaks Senior Living Community since 2004. She previously had lived in Winslow since the mid-1940s.
While in Winslow she was very active in the community as a whole, as well as Winslow’s PTA and Eastern Star. She became Worthy Matron in the early ‘70s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Robb. They were married for 47 years before his passing in 1980.
Survivors include her seven children, Merlene Robb, Nancy Bealer, Alice Reidenbach, Gerry (Karen), Duncan (Carolyn), Alan (Sue) and Tim (Celeste); as well as 17 beloved grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The influence of her life will continue to touch those who knew her in so many ways. She had a gift of hospitality and made everyone feel special.
The family requests donations be made to the hospices of choice in memory of Helen Robb.
