With the top 24 qualifiers in each individual event and the top 16 relay teams, all heading to the state track meet this weekend the Winslow Bulldogs will be well represented. Also athletes finishing within a few spots of the top 24 may get into the final field as alternates in their individual events.
For the boys’ team Shane Sweet and Kelly Wood both may be alternates in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash respectively. They were ranked 25th and 27th in each event.
Kevin Decker is ranked 17th in the 800 meter run, and he will also compete in the 1600 meter run as the eighth overall seed.
Lukas Shirley made it in both hurdle races qualifying ninth in the 110 meter, and 12th in the 300 meter race.
Henry Montei will compete in the long jump as the 12th ranked jumper. He will also be in the triple jump where he is ranked ninth.
Tito Johnson finished ranked eighth in the high jump.
Chad Colvin will compete in the shot put ranked 15th.
The boys’ team also qualified in all three relay races. They are seventh in the 4×100, 15th in the 4×400 and 10th in the 4×800 meter.
Lauren Hatch qualified 10th in the 100 meter dash, and 20th in the 400 meter dash. She may be an alternate in the 200 meter dash where she finished ranked 26th.
Alicia Chen finished 26th in the 400 meter dash and may be an alternate as well.
Angelica Milligan will compete in the pole vault ranked ninth.
Kaydn Bitsoi may be an alternate in the shot put ranked 25th.
Mesha Fuson will be in the discus where she finished the season ranked 11th.
The Lady Bulldogs also qualified in the 4×100 meter relay ranked 16th, and the 4×400 meter relay ranked as the 13th best team.
The Division III state track meet gets underway Friday at Mesa Community College.
