Snowflake’s boys’ team won nearly every large Invitational meet they participated in this year so it’s not surprising they have qualified a large number of athletes for the state tournament coming up this weekend. With the top 24 in each individual event, as well as the top 16 in the relays, the Lobos have several events represented. Also those within a few spots of the top 24 may also compete as alternates.
Jordan Gardner qualified seventh in the 800 meter run.
Dustin Shumway will be busy, having qualified fourth in the 110 meter hurdles, 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles, and seventh in the long jump and may also compete in one of the three relay races.
Matthew Tenney and Kirt Solomon may be alternates in the 110 meter hurdles having finished ranked 26th and 27th.
Brenton Ballard will compete in the 300 meter hurdles ranked 14th. Along with Dustin Shumway, the Lobos will be busy at the long jump with Chase Walden ranked 10th, Brenton Ballard 21st and Landon Godfrey 22nd.
Landon Godfrey will also compete in the triple jump where he is ranked fourth overall.
Four Lobos will compete in the high jump including; Everett Lunt ranked second, Kegan Kay 15th, Chase Walden 16th and Keagan Bjorn ranked 19th.
Kirt Solomon may compete as an alternate ranked 27th.
Matt Babb finished ranked second in the pole vault and will compete along with Quentin Scott ranked third, and Raymond Shumway who is ranked 22nd.
The shot put will also be a busy place with Chase Walden ranked second, J.T. Bradley third, Reggie Petersen sixth and Logan Rackley 14th.
In the discus Reggie Petersen is ranked first overall and J.T. Bradley competes ranked as the third best overall.
Three boys teams will compete in the relays where they are ranked 15th in the 4×100 meter, seventh in the 4×400 meter and third in the 4×800 meter races.
Like the boys the Lady Lobos will also have several competing in the two day meet.
McKenzie Wood finished 24th in the 100 meter dash.
Melissa Allen is 16th in the 800 meter run.
Kilee Richards finished seventh and Kianna Natividad is ranked eighth in the 100 meter hurdles.
Kiliee Richards will also compete in the 300 meter hurdles where she is ranked 24th.
In the long jump, McKenzie Wood is ranked 13th, Vanessa Fox 16th, Kadi Johnson 17th and Kianna Natividad 19th.
In the triple jump, Sydney Olson is ranked third and Kadi Johnson will compete ranked ninth.
Vanessa Fox is in the high jump ranked 10th. She is joined by Annika Decker ranked 16th and Mikaila Jordan who is ranked 17th.
Jessica Neff is ranked number one overall in the shot put. She is joined by 20th ranked Hanah Uchytil.
Jessica Neff will also compete in the discus as the 14th ranked thrower.
The Ladies also qualified an eighth place team in the 4×100 meter relay.
The Division III state track meet will be held on Friday and Saturday at Mesa Community College.
