The first round of the state tournament was unkind to both the baseball and softball teams from Joseph City. The baseball squad entered the bracket as the 22nd overall seed and fell 9-6 to 11th seeded Northland Prep on Tuesday. The Wildcats finished the season with a 7-12 power point mark. Northland Prep fell to Ray 11-1 in the second round of the tournament.
The Lady Wildcats also fell, although in a closer margin losing 2-1 to Miami. The 19th ranked Wildcats fell to the 14 seed. Miami has advanced to the final four of the division IV tournament having dispatched Tanque Verde and Phoenix Christian over the weekend. The Lady Wildcats wrap up the season with an overall power point mark of 7-11.
