Claude Bangs Flye, 90, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from this life in Snowflake. He awoke in Heaven in time to spend Mother’s Day with his mother. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the Sun Valley Church of the Nazarene in Sun Valley. At a future date there will be a memorial service in Minnesota.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1922, in Freedom, Maine.
Claude graduated from high school at Lincoln Academy in New Castle, Maine. Some years later he graduated from Bible school in Waukesha, Wis. He later pastored churches in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Denver, Colo. At the age of 62 he retired from being a custodian for the City and County of Denver. In 1993 he moved to Arizona and lived near Sun Valley Indian School.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Doris-Mae; two sons, Nathan of Oakland, Calif., and Peter of Denver; his daughter, Claudia Mae and Bart Fletcher. He leaves 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
