Jeff Trujillo, 92, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Friday, May 10, 2013. Holy Rosary and prayer service were held May 15 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow. Interment followed in Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
Everyone knew him as The Little ‘Ol Man who was always walking. He decided to take another path…a different journey to another place.
Jeff Francis Trujillo was born on July 4, 1920, to Remigio and Aileen Trujillo.
He saw a lot…did a lot…had been through a lot. He served his country in World War II with the 169th Signal Battalion.
On Oct. 19, 1946, he married the love of his life, Lois Cain.
Jeff retired from Southern Union Gas Company after working for 32 years.
During his retirement he began the hobby of carving carousel horses, which at one point were displayed at the Old Trails Museum in Winslow. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and his good friend Sonny Plese.
Jeff was a proud and strong man, and was always there for his family and friends whenever they needed him. He certainly defined what a true man should be and he will greatly be missed.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Trujillo; six granddaughters, Rebecca Trujillo, Susan (Tommy) Evans, Tammy (Terry) McDermott, Laurie Trujillo, Katherine (Jimmy) Haynes and Veronica Andrews; 11 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sons, John, Mike and Patrick; and his brothers, Joseph and Johnny.
Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
