Robert A. “Bob” Coleman Jr., 33, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Austin, Texas.
Robert was born on May 23, 1979, to Robert Coleman Sr. and Carla Coleman at Travis Air Force Base in California. He was the second of four children. During his childhood he lived in California, Turkey, Alaska and Mountain Home, Idaho, where he graduated high school.
Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He first served on Aerial Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) aircraft. He later retrained to computer programming and moved from his first assignment at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma to Good Fellow Air Force Base in Texas. At the end of his enlistment he separated honorably after nine years of service.
He started college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, and later completed his degree at the University of Texas-San Antonio just before his death.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Carla Coleman of Taylor; two sisters, Becky Coleman Thompson of North Dakota and Cari Coleman of Shoemaker, Ala.; one brother, Daniel Coleman of Alaska; his grandparents, Arnold and Ruth Coleman of Casa Grande, and James A. Gattis of Sapulpa, Okla.; four nieces, Taylor, Ryann, Anika and Delilah; and three nephews, Caden, CJ and Dayne.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha A. Gattis; and an uncle, Arnold C. Coleman.
