Photo by Sean Wiessner This pronghorn herd includes an older and younger male, and five females. They were busy grazing near the Petrified Forest last weekend. Pronghorns are the only animals in the world with branched horns instead of antlers, but they shed them like antlers. They are the fastest animals in the Western Hemisphere, running up to 60 miles per hour, and can run further than a cheetah at a fast pace for hours.
