Dennis Lee Copeland, 66, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at his home in Taylor surrounded by family after he had lost the battle with cancer. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 o’clock tonight (June 28) at Silver Creek Mortuary, located at 745 Papermill Road in Taylor. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, at the Taylor Cemetery.
He was born to William and Betty Copeland in September 1946 in Springfield, Ill. The Copelands moved from Illinois to Tucson in the early 1950s.
Dennis spent time in the Army, serving in Germany. He married Jeanette Wyers in June 1968, then spent time in the Safford and Globe areas, where he managed A.J. Bayless stores. Dennis moved his family to the Taylor area in 1979. He loved the area and retired from Catalyst Paper Mill in 2011.
He liked golfing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of Taylor; his daughter, Kim (Clifford) of Taylor; his granddaughter, Kasey (Nathan) Little; his grandson, Trevon Maxwell; his great-granddaughter, Jordin Little; his father, William Copeland; his sister, Vicky (Clint) Churchill; his niece, Christine Churchill; his brother, John Copeland; and extended family members.
