Photo by Linda Kor Independence Day is almost here, and that means fireworks and delicious barbecue. These Holbrook volunteer firefighters make up just a handful of those who will be cooking for the annual Fourth of July Barbecue lunch. Preparing the sauce and discussing the meal are (left to right) Kevin Eckstein, Barbecue Chairman Mike Young, Pat Baca, Mark “Pork Chop” Oberriter, Chief Cary Simpson and Randall Lupher. The all you can eat barbecue will be served at 12 noon, along with beans, coleslaw, a roll and ice cold lemonade for $10 for adults and $5 for kids at Firehouse No. 3 on the mesa in Holbrook.
