Rosalie Perea Sample, 74, of Holbrook suddenly passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, in Show Low. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 5, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona St. in Holbrook, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1938, in Holbrook, the oldest of 11 children, to the late Demetrio Perea and Consuela Abeyta.
Rosalie married the love of her life, Henry Chavez Sample Sr., on Feb. 14, 1958, in St. Johns.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed traveling all over the United States visiting her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved to fish.
Survivors include her four children, Delfina (Frank) Baca, Thomas (Peggy) Sample, Derrick (Bobbi) Sample and Christina (Frederick) Baca; as well as 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Sample Sr.; a son, Henry C. Sample Jr.; and a grandson, Michael Brown.
