Six young women will compete in the annual Miss Navajo County Scholarship Pageant scheduled at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Snowflake High School Auditorium.
Lachele Baldwin, 18, will present a cello solo for her talent in the pageant. Her platform is Service in the Community. She will be attending Brigham Young University-Idaho in the fall, where she will study political science/pre-law.
Alexandrea Guffey, 19, will perform a soft rock vocal for her talent. Her platform is Disability Awareness. She will be studying American Sign Language and completing her Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
Katie Johnson, 18, will perform a jazz etude on the saxophone for her talent. Her platform is Girl Scouts of America. She will be attending Arizona State University in the fall, studying early childhood education.
Kylie Koerperich, 18, will present a guitar and vocal solo for her talent. Her platform is Autism Speaks. She will be attending Northern Arizona University in the fall, where she will study speech pathology.
Jessica Peck, 17, will perform a ballet dance for her talent. Her platform is Fund the Fight, Find a Cure–Breast Cancer Awareness. She will be attending Northland Pioneer College in the fall, studying special needs education.
Jewell Plower, 17, will present a contemporary vocal for her talent. Her platform is Child Abuse. She is a high school senior this year and plans to attend the University of Arizona next year to study pre-med to become a pediatrician.
