Holbrook police officers apprehended a Holbrook man suspected of involvement in a stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday.
At approximately 2:13 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, Officers Tony Sutton and Sean Tyler responded to the 300 block of West Erie Street after receiving a call of a reported stabbing. The officers discovered Holbrook resident Bobby Wauneka, 43, sitting outside a residence with a wound to his arm. The officers entered the residence and began a search for the suspect. When they came upon a locked door, the officers broke down the door and observed 18-year-old Reuben Wauneka, the victim’s nephew, climbing through a window and then jumping over a fence. Officers gave chase and apprehended the suspect.
Bobby Wauneka was transported to Little Colorado Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
Reuben Wauneka was booked into the Navajo County Jail, and charged with disorderly conduct/domestic violence, aggravated domestic violence and aggravated assault/domestic violence, as well as six warrants.
The incident remains under investigation.
