The Lobos will open the gridiron season on the road on Friday, Aug. 30, traveling to Mingus where they will face a Marauder team coming off an 8-4 season.
Last season Snowflake, which went 10-3 before losing out in the state semi-final round, dominated this match-up, winning 37-17 and more than doubling Mingus in total offense. Several key players for both teams have since graduated, though, leaving behind younger squads hoping to return to post-season play again this year.
With Estrella Foothills and defending state champion Seton Catholic on the docket for the next two weeks, the Lobos would like nothing more than to begin with a win on the road against a quality team.
