A school supply drive will be underway in the coming week to assist Winslow schoolteachers in stocking up their classrooms. Teachers are supplied the necessary tools needed to educate Winslow children, but are in need of incidentals that assist them in offering a quality, well rounded and sanitary school experience.
Some of the items that teachers use and need include tissue, wipes, desk calendars, baggies, mosquito repellent, highlighter markers and pens, reward stickers, pencil holders, glitter, clothespins, ice packs, brown or white lunch sacks, string and yarn, popsicle sticks, paper plates, cups, napkins and paper towels, elbow macaroni, plastic tableware, straws, beads, pom-poms and foam.
Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday (Sept. 4-6), and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Winslow Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Center, located at 523 W. Second St. For more information, call (928) 289-2434.
