The 11th annual 9/11 ceremony is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at East End Park, near Transcon Lane and Third Street in Winslow.
Event organizer Loni White noted, “This year’s event will be small, but there will be performances by several individuals.”
Chelsea White will sing the National Anthem, the Winslow High School Choir will sing It’s A Wonderful World, a battery operated candle lighting will take place, Darren Fowler is to sing Amazing Grace, Winslow Police Chief Steve Garnett will say a few words, Father Jeff King has closing prayer duties, and Mayor Robin Boyd will end the ceremony with a few words or a poem.
White requests that you bring your own chair if you wish to sit during the ceremony.
