Snowflake moved to 2-0 on the season with an impressive, 42-14 win over visiting Estrella Foothills on Friday night.
Touchdown runs by Ty Reidhead in the first and second period led to a 15-0 lead for the home team. Late in the second period Reidhead connected with Lehi Caldwell on a 42-yard catch and run, then just before the half ended a Reidhead to Travis Flake connection left Snowflake with a 28-7 halftime advantage.
Reidhead and Flake connected two more times in the second half, which was more than enough to counter a kick off return for a score by the Wolves, helping the Lobos move to 2-0 on the season.
They now have a huge early season match-up this week with a long trip to face defending champion Seton Catholic in the Valley. The Sentinels are also 2-0, with wins over Estrella Foothills and Maricopa in their first two weeks. They defeated Estrella 38-20, leaving the early edge, at least on paper, to the Lobos, who beat Estrella by 28 points.
