The results of the August Northeastern Arizona PAL Sportsmen’s Association Handgun Match included: Auto-1, Frank Lucero and Bob Cayton; Auto-2, William Morris, Craig Morgan and Bob Wheeler; and Revolver, Ken Peshlakai.
Stage winners were: first stage, Mark Whitmer; and second, third and fourth stages, Frank Lucero.
The first stage was an 18-round standards course with two-hand, right hand only and left hand only shooting with reloads. There were lots of “no-shoot” targets and barricades thrown in to test the shooters’ abilities. The second stage was a Virginia Count 12-round course, which demanded that the shooter not miss since make-up shots were not allowed. The third stage was an 18-round steel match. Stage four was a quick six-round speed course with no-shoot targets.
The next handgun match with categories for pistol and revolver will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. Match fees for members are $5 per gun and for non-members, $8. The group shoots under USPSA/IPSC rules. Bring gloves, water, a snack and a pen.
