Beatrice Elizabeth Jarvis, 99, peacefully died on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. Funeral services were held Sept. 14 at the Show Low Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Beatrice was born July 22, 1914, at her grandparents’ home in Show Low, the eldest child of John R. Young and Mary Louise Nikolaus. She attended school in Eden and Lakeside, and spent the summer months during her youth on their farm in Show Low/Fools Hollow area.

She fell in love with and married her childhood friend, Earl Jarvis. They had three children. They moved to Show Low in 1945, where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Earl and Beatrice were loved by all who knew them. When Earl died in 1991, they had celebrated 59 years together and left us with many fond memories to cherish forever.

After her family was raised, she began working at the Show Low Post Office where she continued making lifetime friends. She retired after 20 years.

Her many hobbies included a lifetime interest in photography. She donated pictures to local authors and the Show Low Museum. She was an expert seamstress, a master cook, and took great pride in working in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Throughout her life, including the day before her death, she kept a personal journal, created many scrapbooks and organized over 50 picture albums.

Her posterity includes: a son, Marion (Rosmarie); a daughter, Earlene (Gordon Wahl, deceased/Ivan Rhoton, deceased); a son, Jerry, deceased; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
Her greatest achievements in life were her positive attitude and her genuine love for everyone she met. We were all her favorite.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.Jarvis,Beatrice
