Holbrook’s cross country teams were invited to the highly regarded Doug Conley Invitational meet held at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Tempe on Saturday.
Competing with several other elite level teams, the Holbrook boys’ team finished 11th overall in a 23-team field. Corona Del Sol won the event with 56 points, followed by Tuba City with 113 and Page with 135. Holbrook’s top five runners placed 11th with 318 team points.
The Roadrunners were paced by Mark Clark, who finished 46th with a time of 17:36. Brother Marcos Clark was close behind in 49th position with a time of 17:39. Kyle Chee placed 57th in 17:49; Triston Zahne, 65th in 17:56; Roy Begay, 124th in 19:02; and Ryan Keyonnie, 145th in 20:03.
The Holbrook girls competed in the open division with 138 runners. Miya Tom led Holbrook’s squad, finishing 36th with a time of 22:23, followed by Johanna Tsosie, 86th in 24:52; LaShaundra Tsosie, 107th in 25:56; Glenda Tsosie, 116th in 26:26; Jayne Sandoval, 134th in 30:09; and Raenna Bahe, 136th in 31:16.
