The Lady Roadrunners won their third straight volleyball match with an easy 3-0 road win at Valley Sanders last Thursday. This was their seventh power point victory against just two such losses. Holbrook has made good work of the easier portion of its schedule, but they will now need to step up against the next four opponents.
After hosting second ranked Snowflake on Tuesday, Holbrook will welcome in a very good Monument Valley team on Saturday, Oct. 12. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Birds travel to Window Rock, then on Thursday, Oct. 17, highly ranked Tuba City awaits the Roadrunners.
Playing without an injured Teyah Goldtooth at Valley last week the Roadrunners didn’t miss a beat against the overmatched Lady Pirates. Holbrook won the first game 25-16, took the second 25-14 and closed out the match by winning game three 25-13.
Tess Baldonado finished with 24 kills, two assists, two aces, 10 digs and two block assists. Shandie Demuth added two kills, 27 assists, two aces and nine digs. Mariah Cummings ended with one kill and seven digs. Shayna Carlson added two kills, three assists and one dig. Brandi Cline had nine digs. Terrilyn Lester had 13 kills and four digs. Demi Phaturos added eight digs. Alex Jeffers-Sample finished with one kill and two digs. Ashley Attakai added two digs. Dena Kinlicheenie finished with eight assists and six digs.
