The Lady Lobos have positioned themselves nicely for a state volleyball tournament run. With only three regular season matches left in the season the Lobos entered this week ranked second in power points behind unbeaten Safford. Snowflake pushed its mark to 13-1 by winning all three matches played last week. The Lobos’ only power point loss came at the hands of Safford earlier in the season.
On Tuesday the Lobos took care of Fountain Hills, winning the match 3-0. Emma Tenney and Tandis Yellowhair combined for 27 kills. Rachelle King and Maryssa Tenney combined for 38 assists in the win.
Two days later the Lobos picked up a win against a very good Blue Ridge team, beating the Yellowjackets 3-1.
Friday marked another 3-0 win, this time over Payson.
After playing at Payson again on Tuesday, Snowflake will host Coconino on Thursday, Oct. 24. The Lobos wrap up the regular season with a home match against Show Low on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The state tournament is slated for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9, and Snowflake certainly has to be considered one of the favorites for the title.
