Members of American Legion Navajo Post No. 37 in Holbrook placed a new sign on Monday. The old sign had deteriorated and with the last big windstorm, blew down.
It was a joint effort for legion members as they donated materials, talent and time to put the sign together. Buddy Dupee´ built the frame for the sign. Bob George put the lettering on the glass and the glass in the frame. Randy Trujillo and George placed the electrical wiring in the sign and hooked it all together. Ray Alley donated the lettering.
The new commander, Ken McCormick, is working to improve things at the post. He also pushed to have new tin installed on the dance floor’s north side. McCormick said, “You could see daylight through the old wall. Weather was coming in and getting things wet.”
