The Snowflake Academy Building Foundation will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the academy building at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, on the historic building’s lawn. The ceremony will include placing a time capsule. The foundation will provide cookies, and everyone is invited to attend, said Foundation President Cris Chugg.
The academy building was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day 1913. The foundation is working diligently to restore the building and make a state of the art Snowflake-Taylor library.
Karen LaDuke reports that they are working on a number of items in refurbishing the building. The front steps have been removed and are being redone, and will include a ramp on the southeast side. A sprinkler system is being installed, with completion anticipated in January.
Due to the construction, those attending the celebration will be able to look inside the front door, but will not be able to go inside.
