Sandra Louise Hancock, the big kid at heart and our sister, left us for her next adventure on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Mesa. A special memorial service for Sandra will be held at a later date.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1957, in Snowflake to the late Chet J. and Vida Katren (Lard) Hancock.
She was a joy to her family, especially her nieces and nephews, for the sharing of herself, her compassionate heart, her love for children and animals. She had a talent for caricature drawing, crafts, a love of learning and was a guide to those that needed help. And, oh yeah–don’t forget her jokester side–she loved a good prank! She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Rose (Clarence) Petersen of Springerville, Vickie Ross of Show Low, Verlie (Roger) Douglass of Tacoma, Wash., Timothy (Annette) Hancock of Linden, Patricia (Wilfred) Armijo of Taylor and Storm (Ava) Hancock of Show Low; and many, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Along with her parents, she is now reunited with a brother, Bart James Hancock.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low was in charge of the arrangements.Sandra Hancock
