Photo by Linda Kor With food supplies running low at local charities, the Holbrook Police Department is asking the community to donate non-perishable food items that will, in turn, be given to Catholic Charities to assist those in need during the holidays. Green boxes have been placed at local businesses throughout the community and a Hummer will be parked at Safeway from 4 to 6 p.m. on Fridays, Nov. 22, Dec. 6 and 20, to collect donations. Holbrook Police Chief Mark Jackson accepts a donation of canned goods from Mike Walker at Safeway.
