Holbrook finished in eighth place as a team at the Division IV Boys’ State Cross Country Meet held last Saturday morning in Queen Creek. The Roadrunners finished with 238 team points in the 22-team field.
Tuba City claimed the team state title with 48 points. Rio Rico followed in second with 71, Page was third with 117. Chinle finished fourth and Mingus Union was fifth.
Oscar Amaya from Rio Rico won the individual state title with a time of 15:47.
The Roadrunners were paced in the final meet of the season by senior Kyle Chee, who placed 30th in the 165-runner field with a time of 17:15. Mark Clark was close behind in 31st with a time of 17:17, followed by Triston Zahne, 63rd in 17:56; Marcel Young, 64th in 17:58; Roy Begay, 79th in 18:14; Kendrick Nez, 83rd in 18:19; and Ryan Keyonnie, 128th in 19:20.
