Loving wife, mother and friend, Jesusita Paulsell, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, surrounded by her family with prayers of celebration. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Inurnment will follow at the Holbrook Cemetery.
Susie was a very loving person who was good to everyone she met. She loved and accepted everyone, always caring for those in need. No one ever left her home hungry or feeling alone.
She taught by example to her family and friends, always doing the right thing, caring for others and then teaching her family how to do the same. Susie had a very fulfilling life. She was a successful businesswoman who ran the West End Liquor Store for more than 45 years.
Survivors include her children, Lita (Fred) Slatton, Juanita (Donald) Mann, Betty (Roland) Mahan, Gloria Ortega, Morton R. (Jacqueline) Ortega, Rita Ortega, Paul (Jacki) Ortega and Viola (the late Tom) Ortega; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Tony Ortega; her second husband, John Paulsell; her son Tom Ortega; two brothers; and one sister.
Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook was in charge of the arrangements.Jesusita Paulsell
