The Sun Valley Indian School volleyball season has begun.
In their quest for the Desert Pine Sports League title, the junior varsity Warriors have started fast out of the gates, winning two matches in league play and dropping one match to Star School in Flagstaff. Star is finishing its season while SVIS is just beginning.
The varsity Warriors started out rough, but have been improving dramatically between the last two matches, both of which were losses. Their record sits at 1-2, but they are 1-1 in league play.
Coach Kristopher Miller said he feels the jayvee will continue to improve upon its record and the varsity will as well.
The next games include: Nov. 19, at Tonto Basin; Nov. 21, home vs. Mountain Christian School; and Nov. 26, home vs. Sequoia. All games start at 3:30 p.m.
