Charles Kulu’Anu Youvella, 17, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 013, in Phoenix. Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Polacca. Interment was in the Sand Hill Ranch family plot.
Charles was born in Tuba City on March 20, 1996.
He loved and wrote music, and played basketball and football. Family was the most important thing to Charles, and he was also deeply involved in his Hopi culture.
Survivors include his father, Wallace Youvella Jr.; his stepmother, Wilma Kaye; his paternal grandparents, Wallace Youvella Sr. and Iris Youvella; his maternal grandmother, Maebelle Yazzie; three sisters, Khrystal Youvella, Torri Youvella and Ryesa Howato; four brothers, Vince Youvella, Zachary Youvella, Layne Youvella and Dominique Youvella.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winifred M. Youvella; his brother, Lance J. Youvella; and his maternal grandfather, Rocky D. Yazzie.
